Daily Smile 04Jan13

Welcome to day 2 of my smile a day blog. My smile of the day was thanks to a client named Mrs. Johnson and the dog's name is Buster, he is a Boston Terrier. We did cataract surgery on Buster last week. Mrs. Johnson gave me a hug and told me how she wasn't sure if she would be doing so well with Buster's medication if it wasn't all of my great advice and taking the time out to go over each medication multiple times to make sure that she fully understood what to give and when to give it. In my line of work, we don't get compliments like that very much. All of the technicians I've worked with that truly care about what they do and these patients, none of them ever get the gratification from clients that they deserve. So for this woman to take time and individually think me for doing my job basically, meant so much to me. I know what I do is important, and I do it for the pets not for the owners, but it is nice just feel appreciated every now and then. Although, sometimes I'll take a slobbery lick in the face and a tail wag from a dog over a thank you from a client. Sometimes humans can give false thank you, but a dog can't fake a tail wag.
